Working with oppressed, disenfranchised, and marginalized groups
I have over a decade of experience in leadership positions working and volunteering in health and social care settings, primarily with vulnerable, oppressed, and underserved populations.

I am a Registered Social Worker (Registration Number 3748) and Practicing Member in Good Standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and by proxy, the Canadian Association of Social Workers. I am also a member of Emerging Health Leaders and the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
My work is guided heavily by acknowledging the social determinants of health and how they interact with and impact people and systems.
I have spent time working with people of all ages and varying challenges, including:

-
physical health emergencies
-
chronic illness management
-
disability & accessibility management
-
psychiatric illness & emergencies
-
extreme poverty
-
homelessness & precarious housing
-
incarceration
-
precarious immigration status
-
domestic and relational violence
-
trauma
-
child abuse and neglect
-
systemic racism
-
adoption and foster care

In leadership roles, I work in lockstep with stakeholders and team members to accomplish tasks and projects efficiently, effectively, and successfully. I aim to nurture a welcoming and diverse work environment and provide meaningful and intentional guidance and performance assessments.

In direct practice, I work collaboratively with clients and resources to find solutions to pervasive problems and navigate through complex bureaucratic systems while remaining steadfast that clients are the experts of their own lives.
